Mewtwo (ミュウツー, Mewtwo) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It was confirmed on June 12th, 2018.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Mewtwo's model features a more subdued color scheme. Its body has a noticeable glossy sheen.
Some of Mewtwo's attacks have been updated with new particle effects, including every attack that previously had the Darkness effect like its smash attacks and special moves.
Mewtwo's idle animation has been slightly altered; it now keeps one of its arms lifted.
Attributes
Like all characters, Mewtwo's jumpsquat animation now takes three frames to complete.
Ground Moves
Dash attack has an altered animation: Mewtwo now only uses one hand during the attack instead of both.
Forward tilt has a new animation where Mewtwo spins horizontally to strike with its tail.
Forward tilt has more range and knockback.
Down tilt has increased endlag.
Forward smash can now be angled.
Up smash's effect area has been enlarged.
Aerial Moves
Neutral aerial now has Mewtwo discharge blue electricity around itself while flashing with a blue overlay, instead of discharging multicolored electric orbs.
Back aerial does less damage and slightly less range.
Throws/other attacks
Back throw has an altered animation, with Mewtwo tossing the opponent over its shoulder nonchalantly.
Special Moves
Shadow Ball charges faster.
Fully charged Shadow Ball is smaller and travels slower.
Confusion halts Mewtwo's momentum, worsening it as a recovery move.
Confusion no longer corrects the opponent's position to the center of the ripple when captured.
Teleport has a darker, more distinct visual effect when Mewtwo disappears and reappears.
Disable has slightly more lag.
Disable has a different animation, with Mewtwo spreading its arms out while flashing its eyes.
Psystrike has improved visual effects; it is now colored purple and white throughout instead of purple at the edge and black/yellow/blue in the center, and the center now contains a "burst" visual effect instead of a vortex. Upon hitting an opponent, its visual effects are also more intense.
