SmashWiki makes no guarantee of validity
SmashWiki is an online open-content collaborative encyclopedia, that is, a voluntary association of individuals and groups working to develop a common resource of knowledge. The structure of the project allows anyone with an Internet connection to alter its content. Please be advised that nothing found here has necessarily been reviewed by people with the expertise required to provide you with complete, accurate, or reliable information.
That is not to say that you will not find valuable and accurate information on SmashWiki; much of the time, you will. However, SmashWiki cannot guarantee the validity of the information found here. The content of any given article may have recently been changed, vandalized, or altered by someone whose opinion does not correspond with the state of knowledge in the relevant area. Note that most other encyclopedias and reference works also have similar disclaimers.

SmashWiki is not private
All information found on SmashWiki is public, including anything you add to an article or on a user page about yourself. In essence, you are publishing all information that you add when posting to the site.
SmashWiki does not require the collection of personal information from its users. Providing SmashWiki with your real name and/or email address is optional. Your IP address will be made public only if you edit without logging in for the sake of attributing those edits. Create an account or do not edit if you do not want your IP address to be made public. If you post personally-identifiable information (e.g. name, location, birthday) and you wish to have it removed, SmashWiki will work with you to remove it.
