Chespin (ハリマロン, Harimaron) is a creature from the Pokémon series.
Origin[edit]
Chespin, along with Fennekin and Froakie, first appeared in Pokémon X and Y as a starter Pokémon of the Kalos Region, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #650 as the "Spiny Nut Pokémon". It is a Grass-type Pokémon that evolves into Quilladin starting at level 16, which evolves into Chesnaught starting at level 36.
Seed Bomb is a Grass-type physical move with 80 base power, 100% accuracy and no extra effects. Chespin is able to learn it at level 32 in all its appearances.
In Super Smash Bros. 4[edit]
As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]
Chespin appears in both versions of Super Smash Bros. 4. It uses the move Seed Bomb, where it shoots explosive seeds from its body at close proximity and detonates them all at once, damaging nearby fighters.
Chespin has a spawn chance of 42/975. It cannot be summoned on the following stages in a standard versus match (applies to both games and only the base form unless noted otherwise):
Trophy[edit]
Chespin's trophy appears in both versions. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U it is part of the Pokémon X and Y (1) Trophy Box.

The thick shell covering its head and back is so strong, it can protect Chespin's body from almost any impact. Its Seed Bomb attack will scatter bombs around it that instantly explode.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]
Chespin returns as a Poké Ball summon. Although not directly changed, Chespin's attack is generally more effective, as the increased hitlag makes it easier for each seed bomb attack to hit twice.
Chespin has a spawn chance of 42/1463. It cannot be summoned on the following stages in a standard versus match (applies only to the base form unless noted otherwise):
Spirit[edit]
Chespin also appears as a Novice-class primary spirit. In Adventure Mode: World of Light, its spirit is located in the valley area of The Light Realm.
Chespin's Spirit Battle uses three green Ivysaur puppet fighters and is fought on Kongo Jungle. One Ivysaur starts with a Poké Ball that can immediately summon Chespin. Also, the Ivysaurs favor Bullet Seed, referencing Chespin's Seed Bomb move.
