Her basic move set is the same as Peach's, but this princess has her own unique personality. She's known for being upbeat, energetic, and a bit of a tomboy.

Daisy is a playable newcomer character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Deanna Mustard reprises her role as Daisy from previous Mario games.

Differences from Peach

An icon used in notice templates. NOTE: SmashWiki is not speculative. Please refrain from adding detailed data values derived from pre-release gameplay footage, such as the E3 demo. Such data (damage values, launch trajectories, frame data, etc.) are subject to change before the official release.

Aesthetics

  • Change Daisy has different taunts and victory animations. Her intro is different as well.
  • Change Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
  • Change Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of a red one for her counter and throws.
  • Change Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack, instead of hearts.

Attributes

  • Buff Daisy is slightly shorter than Peach, as she is in most Mario series games. This gives her a smaller hurtbox whilst her range is identical.

Aerial moves

  • Nerf Daisy's forward air is not a magic attack, and has shorter range than Peach's similar attack.

Trivia

  • Despite utilizing one in her moveset, Daisy has almost no affiliation with Toads - blue or otherwise - in the Mario games. The only main exception is in Mario Super Sluggers, where a red Toad guards her after being frozen by Bowser Jr.
  • Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the demo.
  • One of Daisy's victory animations is reminiscent of her celebration animation from Mario Golf: World Tour.
  • Daisy's pose for one of her unique animations matches promotional artwork of her first used for Mario Kart 7. It is unclear whether this is a taunt or an idle.
  • Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the last time being Lucina in SSB4.
  • Daisy is the first character to be cloned from a female, being Peach.
  • Daisy is one of only two newcomers introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art, the other being Inkling.
