Luigi is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was revealed along with the rest of the roster on June 12th, 2018.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

Luigi's appearance is based from his most recent appearances such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey.

Aesthetics

  • Change Like most of the returning roster, Luigi has become much more expressive than in the previous games.
  • Change Luigi has a new dash animation that is akin to how he runs in games such as Super Mario 3D World and New Super Mario Bros. U.
  • Change His attacks are much more vibrant such as a vortex forming when he performs Luigi Cyclone, spinning when Green Missile misfires, or wincing in the final part of his up taunt.

Attributes

  • Change Luigi has a new up tilt, a short uppercut.
  • Change Luigi has a new side tilt, which appears to be faster than his previous one.
  • Change Luigi's Super Jump Punch sweetspot now uses the new "Power Hit" effect.
