Aesthetics

  • Change As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Sheik's model features a more subdued color scheme. Her hair retains its simple detailing, similar to Brawl.
  • Change While Sheik retains some design elements from SSB4, she now wears the Sheikah Set from Breath of the Wild, including the long white scarf of the Stealth Mask.
  • Change Similar to Brawl, Sheik's muscles are less well defined, making her appearance overall less masculine.
  • Change Sheik now has a new voice, which sounds a tad bit deeper than before.

Attributes

  • Buff Like all characters, Sheik's jumpsquat animation now takes three frames to complete.
  • Nerf Due to the removal of perfect pivots, Sheik's tilt combos have been removed.

Ground attacks

  • Buff Forward smash links into itself better, and its range has slightly increased.

Aerial attacks

  • Buff Forward aerial has slightly increased range, granting it better spacing ability.
  • Buff Up aerial has slightly increased knockback.
  • Buff Back aerial has noticeably increased knockback, making it a viable KO move at high percents.

Throws/other attacks

  • Buff Sheik has a new pummel, a kneekick. It is faster compared to her previous pummel.
  • Nerf Forward and Down throw have slightly more knockback and hitstun, reducing its combo potential.

Special Moves

  • Nerf Needle Storm charges slower and can no longer be canceled immediately, as Sheik now has to wait for a period of time before being able to cancel the charge.
  • Buff Aerial Needle Storm has less ending lag, allowing for potential followups.
  • Buff Using Burst Grenade mid-air will no longer leave Sheik helpless afterwards.
  • Nerf Vanish no longer grants her invincibility right before executing the move.
  • Nerf Bouncing Fish has slightly more startup lag.
  • Buff Bouncing Fish has slightly more knockback.
  • Change Bouncing Fish now produces a splash of water on start-up.
  • Change Sheik has a new Final Smash, replacing Light Arrow. Her new Final Smash now involves her lashing out while the Sheikah symbol flashes on-screen. If it lands, Sheik will trap the opponent and slash repeatedly before finishing with a strong blow, similar to Triforce Slash.

Trivia

  • Due to her Final Smash being completely replaced, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate marks the first time in any video game where Sheik uses her knife.
  • Unlike in her previous appearances, in this game Sheik is listed before Zelda based on her rank in order of appearance. This is most likely due to the fact that when Zelda was first introduced as a playable character, Sheik technically appeared first (as her alter-ego), and then turned back into Zelda.
