Flame Chomps (ケロンパ, Keronpa), also known as Fire Chomps, are enemies from the Mario franchise.

In Super Smash Bros. 4

Flame Chomps appear in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as enemies in Smash Run. Like all enemies in that mode, they can be defeated to obtain power-ups. They attack by shooting fireballs at the player, but the attack doesn't do much damage. After they run out of fireballs, they follow the player and attaempt to explode on them.

Trophy Description

If you thought Chain Chomps were bad, wait till you meet Flame Chomps. They use the flames that make up their tail as ammo, and when they run out, they head straight for you and self-destruct. When you defeat one, it'll explode and take out any enemies nearby, and it'll leave a whole load of stat boosts behind, too.

Origin

The Flame Chomp is an enemy introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3 that floats around in the sky and shoots fireballs at Mario. Each one can shoot up to four before it explodes.
