Mario Galaxy is a confirmed stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It is based on the Super Mario Galaxy subseries of Mario platformers. The stage is confirmed to feature gravity similar to that of the Galaxy games. It was officially confirmed on November 15, 2013 though it was teased two months prior.

Overview

The characters will fight on a small, grassy planet in deep space. The stage has a few trees and a house in the background. Various spaceships from the Galaxy games are seen in the sky. Because the planet is so small, the stage has a noticeable curvature to it, which is where the stage's unusual gravity will come from. There are also at least two platforms of differing heights on the stage, though it is unknown if they are moving or stationary. There are no ledges, and it is unknown if the stage's sides are walk-off ledges.

Origin

The stage is based on the Gate from the Super Mario Galaxy games. It is part of the first level in the first Galaxy and is part of the final level in the second. Bowser's Airships from both games are seen in the background, as is Starship Mario from Galaxy 2.
