Zero Suit Samus (ゼロスーツサムス, Zero Suit Samus) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, officially confirmed on June 12th, 2018.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

Aesthetics

• As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Zero Suit Samus's model mostly features a more subdued color scheme, though her eyes are a more vibrant green and less blue. Her suit keeps its Other M paneling, but is now a lighter shade of blue similar to her Brawl and Zero Mission designs.
• While Zero Suit Samus retains some design elements from SSB4, the material of her Zero Suit no longer looks homogeneous. Her physique has been altered as well: her figure is leaner and more muscular, and her bust is smaller.
• Zero Suit Samus has a new idle animation. She now holds the Paralyzer up to her head similar to one of her idle poses and victory animation.

Special moves

• Zero Suit Samus has a new Final Smash where she summons her gunship as before, but temporarily dons her Varia Suit (using the same model as the playable version) and fires a laser from the top of the ship, similarly to Aura Storm.

Trivia

• Ridley's reveal trailer marks Zero Suit Samus' first appearance in a cinematic CGI Smash trailer since Brawl, as only her Varia Suited self had been present in Super Smash Bros. 4 cinematics. Furthermore, as in The Subspace Emissary, her face can be seen through the Varia Suit's helmet.
• Zero Suit Samus is one of three characters to have a unique Final Smash across every installment; the other two are Pit and King Dedede.
