Aesthetics

  • Change As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Wii Fit Trainer's model features a more subdued color scheme. Her clothing and hair now features simple detailing.
  • Change Wii Fit Trainer's face is clearer and has more detailed eyes, approximating her design to Wii Fit U's trainer. According to Sakurai, this was a requested change from the Wii Fit development team.
  • Change Wii Fit Trainer's body faces the screen more compared to the previous entry; however, her stance is not mirrored.
  • Change Much like other fighters, Wii Fit Trainer is more expressive. In particular, she smiles while taunting and using Header, and appears angry while using smash attacks.

Attributes

  • Buff Like all characters, Wii Fit Trainer's jumpsquat animation now takes three frames to complete.

Ground attacks

  • Buff The first hit of neutral attack, when hitting opponents behind the Wii Fit Trainer, now hits opponents backwards, making successful cross-ups more rewarding.
  • Buff Up tilt now reaches further upwards, as Wii Fit Trainer's pose is slightly extended and lifted off the ground.

Grabs/throws/other moves

  • Buff Back throw deals more knockback.

Special moves

  • Change Sun Salutation is now orange in color instead of bright yellow, and no longer has a "lens glare" effect when charging.
  • Buff Sun Salutation's projectile moves faster and stays onscreen longer.
  • Nerf Sun Salutation deals less knockback.
  • Buff Deep Breathing's initial speed appears to be faster.
  • Buff Super Hoop travels higher.
  • Nerf Wii Fit's silhouettes now have a limited travel distance.
  • Buff Wii Fit now launches a large, slow-moving image at the end of the move. This image has KO potential, increasing the Final Smash's overall reliability.

Trivia

  • Wii Fit Trainer and Ryu are the only two characters (so far) whose full renders are not on the official website. In this case, the picture stops just below the thighs.
