In Mario Kart DS, Banana is an item which can be left on the course or thrown forward as any other normal item. When one drives into a Banana, he/she will spin around and lose speed. Bananas seem to come out of item boxes more often when having a good position, and can also appear as a triple banana item. Triple Bananas, when fired, are dragged behind the kart. They can be then freed one by one by pressing the weapon button.
