Infernal Climax is Bayonetta's Final Smash.

Description

Bayonetta yells, "Smashing!", before activating Witch Time across the entire stage. Bayonetta must attack opponents to fill the Climax Gauge at the bottom of the screen. If she succeeds, she summons Gomorrah to attack all fighters she damaged while in Witch Time. Gomorrah will chew up the fighters, dealing a total of 30% damage. While Gomorrah is chewing, another gauge appears, and if the gauge is filled by mashing the standard attack button, an extra 15% is dealt to the targets. If any one target's damage is raised above 100% by Gomorrah, they are instantly KO'd at the end of the attack; otherwise, they receive a set amount of knockback, similarly to the behavior of a Danger Zone. Those who were not damaged by Bayonetta in Witch Time won't be attacked by Gomorrah.

This attack is based off of Bayonetta's main way of finishing off large opponents. The Climax Gauge is modeled after the one seen in Bayonetta 2, where it fills up for button prompts and quick time events (QTEs) rather than the damage she deals as in Super Smash Bros. 4. The Megaton/Gigaton/Infiniton score system used in the Bayonetta series is also absent.

Gomorrah, Devourer of the Divine, is one of Bayonetta's Infernal Demons. He is used to finish off large enemies through out the series. He was her go-to for most enemies in the first game, however in Bayonetta 2, Gomorrah breaks free from her control and fights her atop a skyscraper. It is his betrayal that causes Jeanne to lose her soul, and the start of Bayonetta's journey to save it. After the defeat of Aesir, the God of Chaos, Gomorrah would return to being one of Bayonetta's loyal demons once again, his betrayal being a result of Aesir's influence.

Trivia

Pummeling an opponent with five button presses (which will equal nine slaps) is sufficient enough to fill the Climax Gauge.
