Trivia
- Sephiroth is the second character to be revealed at a non-Nintendo event/presentation, the first being Joker. Coincidentally, both of them were revealed at the Game Awards (in 2018 and 2020 respectively).
- Sephiroth makes the Final Fantasy universe the only third-party universe in Smash Bros. history to ever have more than one original, non-clone fighter.
- Sephiroth is the first villain character in Ultimate to appear as DLC.
