Dr. Mario returns to Smash after thirteen years, being absent from Brawl. This makes him the first known character to skip an installment. His design has been updated to include the red tie he's had since Dr Mario 64.
He retains the Megavitamins and Dr. Tornado in his moveset. His Final Smash is similar to Mario Finale, but it instead uses exploding pills.
