Charizard, known in Japan as Lizardon (リザードン, Rizādon), has been confirmed to return as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. 4. Unlike in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where it was used as one of Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon, it now appears as a stand-alone character. It will be able to MEGA evolve into Mega Charizard "X" unknown if its his FINAL SMASH or another method.

Confirmed information:

  • Charizard's skin appears to be brighter orange than his Brawl appearance.
  • Charizard has a new move where he turns into a fireball and shoots sideways, but it is unknown whether it is his dash attack, or side-special.
