Description

Mewtwo Mega Evolves into its Mega Mewtwo Y form and uses Psystrike. It throws forward a large energy sphere which can trap multiple opponents: those caught in the blast are held still and receive a mental shock, then they are dealt 31% damage and are launched away. It can KO Mario from the middle of Final Destination at 52%.

Origin

Psystrike is Mewtwo's signature move, introduced in Generation V and learned at level 100. It has 100 base power and 100% accuracy, and despite being a Special move it uses the target's physical Defense stat when calculating damage.

Mega Mewtwo Y is one of Mewtwo's two possible Mega Evolutions and can be triggered when it is holding a Mewtwonite Y, found only in Pokémon Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. In this form, Mewtwo gains huge boosts in all stats, except for its Defense, which decreases, and Speed, which only increases slightly. While the playable Mewtwo is primarily based on the character from the first Pokémon movie, Mega Mewtwo Y first appeared in the anime as an alternate form for a different Mewtwo from the sixteenth movie before its debut in the games.
