Article on Zelda Wiki Stalfos

The Stalfos (スタルフォス, Stalfos) is a recurring enemy in the The Legend of Zelda universe. It appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as an enemy in Smash Run and in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as an enemy inside the Master Fortress. Stalfos walk slowly from left to right, and attack when nearby the player. They also block attacks and reflect projectiles with their shield, which makes defeating them significantly harder. The Stalfos' shield can be bypassed if attacking from above, below or behind; or in the slight moment in which the Stalfos is dropping its shield. Stalfos attack either with a three-slash combo or a jump attack, the latter of which meteor smashes at a diagonal angle.

While Stalfos cannot be grabbed in Smash Run, they can be grabbed in Master Fortress, when makes them significantly easier to deal with.

Trophy description

Stalfos
These powerful enemies from the Legend of Zelda series block attacks with their shields, even while they're attacking, making them very difficult to deal with. However, when their attention is focused in front, they're very vulnerable to attacks from behind...

Origin

The Stalfos is an enemy that has appeared in almost every main game in The Legend of Zelda series (The game in which it did not appear in is Majora's Mask). They are undead skeleton beings that wield various weapons, from swords to clubs, and occasionally wield a shield as well. Stalfos are considered powerful enemies, and sometimes mini-bosses, in most games that they have appeared in.

The Smash Run version of the Stalfos is based on the design from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
