Excitebike (エキサイトバイク, Excite Bike) is the brand of eponymous motorcycle originating in the nwiki game Excitebike.

Excitebike is the brand of eponymous motorcycle appearing in the NES game Excitebike, and Excitebike 64. It has made cameo appearances in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl.
Origin
Excitebikes made their first appearance in the NES game Excitebike. They are, for the most part, typical motorcycles that are used in Excitebike racing competitions: as they are used for sport, they have very high specifications and can perform high-profile maneuvers such as launching high in the sky off ramps. Each Excitebike is equipped with a turbo-boosting system which allows it to speed up to very high speeds, but puts a strain on the overheating engine if used for extended periods of time. On each racetrack are icons that instantly cool down the engine if the player rides over them, though. In this game, the Excitebike drivers must simply go through various obstacles and do a certain amount of laps in order to win the race. "Excitebike" also appears in the Nintendo 64 game Excitebike 64 and in the wikipedia game Excitebike: World Rally.

Excitebike (エキサイトバイク, Excite Bike) is the brand of eponymous motorcycle originating in the NES game Excitebike.

Origin[edit]

"Excitebike" also appears in the Nintendo 64 game Excitebike 64 and in the WiiWare game Excitebike: World Rally.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

The Excitebike biker was one of many characters - such as Bubbles (from Clu Clu Land), the main character from Urban Champion, and the Balloon Fighter (from Balloon Fight) - who were considered as representatives of the NES era in Melee; ultimately this role was given to the Ice Climbers, as Masahiro Sakurai saw them as having more potential for an interesting moveset. A factor cited as to why the Excitebike biker wasn't chosen was the difficulty of designing a proper jump mechanic for him.[1] In the final game, the Excitebike biker just makes a minor cameo as a trophy.

Trophy[edit]

Excitebike features as a collectible trophy, unlocked as one of the 100+ trophies that can be collected randomly during normal play, such as in the Trophy Lottery and throughout the various Single-player Regular Matches.
