Article on Zelda Wiki Tetra

Tetra (テトラ, Tetra) is a character from The Legend of Zelda universe.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Tetra appears in Brawl as a trophy and as a sticker. Beyond these roles, Unused filenames in Brawl's code include references to "toon_zelda" and "toon_sheik". Given that Toon Zelda would seemingly refer to Zelda as she appears in The Wind Waker, in analogue to Toon Link, Toon Sheik is sometimes considered a reference to Tetra; however, the files themselves are empty and this cannot be proved.

A pirate captain who roams the seas in search of sunken treasure. Her disposition garners trust from her followers. Even she doesn't realize that she's THE Princess Zelda. Once Ganondorf learns of her existence, the King of Red Lions explains to her the truth about her true self. She is often recognized by her cute pose, where she crosses her arms and winks.

In Smash Tour

In Smash Tour, Tetra is a blue item. Using Tetra places a trap on the board that can steal fighters from other players if walked over.

Origin

Tetra is first introduced in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker as the captain of a group of pirates, who is kidnapped by the Helmaroc King. After she is rescued by Link, his sister Aryll is kidnapped in Tetra's place. Tetra and her pirates go on to assist Link in his quest at various points, by providing transportation on their ship, and by helping him acquire bombs. Ultimately, Tetra is revealed to be the descendant of the Royal Family of Hyrule and thus her era's incarnation of Princess Zelda. As Zelda, she is kidnapped by Ganondorf, but once again rescued by Link; she aids him in the final battle wielding Link's Hero's Bow and Light Arrows.

Tetra would go on to appear in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, serving as a damsel-in-distress for most of the game. In The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, she is referenced as the founder of that game's New Hyrule. She is set to make her playable debut in Hyrule Warriors Legends.
