Vince (ビンス先生, Teacher Vince) is an elderly artist that appears in the Art Academy series.

Origin

Vince is a tutor in the Art Academy series who guides players through lessons on how to paint. Vince's appearance is based off of Vincent van Gogh.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Vince appears as a trophy in the Wii U version only.

Trophy description

Vince's trophy in Smash 4
His real name is Vincent, but he prefers the shortened version. Maybe it's to help put you at ease. This great artist will teach you all sorts of techniques to help you produce a real masterpiece of your very own. Pretty nice of him, right? Once you get the hang of things, why not draw a portrait of Vince himself to say thanks?

Wii U: Art Academy: SketchPad

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Vince in Ultimate.

Vince appears as an Assist Trophy. When summoned, he'll draw paintings onto the stage, each of which follows an opponent, hiding them and dealing a constant small amount of damage to them. Currently, he is known to draw statues, tomatoes, seashells, cats, and birds.

Vince also has a Mii costume based on him for the Mii Swordfighter, wielding a paintbrush.

Trivia

  • Vince is unable to be defeated, despite his Training Mode description lacking the "Can't be KO'd" line.
  • If any characters affected by paintings were to get hit by a cutscene Final Smash such as Team Star Fox or Team Star Wolf, said painting will be visible in the Final Smash.
  • His Mii Fighter hat has glasses, despite the character not being depicted with them in either the Art Academy series or Smash.
