This track was the main theme for ''{{s|wikipedia|Sonic Colors}}''. The track was remixed several times throughout ''Sonic Colors'', and even found its way into the 3DS version of ''Sonic Lost World'', where an instrumental version would play when Sonic gained the Speed Shoes. Remixed versions of the song appear as Sonic's theme in ''{{s|wikipedia|Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed}}'' and ''{{s|wikipedia|Team Sonic Racing}}''. The track is performed by Jean Paul Makhlouf, of the band {{s|wikipedia|Cash Cash}}. The PAL release refers to the game of origin as ''Sonic Colours'' due to the difference in spelling between American and Commonwealth English.

Trouble keeps you running faster

Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom

Save the planet from disaster

Through the dark to the light

It's a supersonic flight

Gotta keep it going

Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom

Lyrics[edit]

Come on, run away

You don't have to stay

We're nearly out of time

But you're doin' fine

So stay on track

And don't look back

Just feel the pace

Come on, now race

Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

Try to keep your feet right on the ground

When you're Super Sonic Racing

There's no time to look around

We're just Super Sonic Racing

Running to the point of no return

Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

Come on, let the fires burn

Everybody, everybody, everybody

Everybody, everybody, everybody

Everybody, everybody, everybody

Everybody, everybody

Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

Try to keep your feet right on the ground

When you're Super Sonic Racing

There's no time to look around

We're just Super Sonic Racing (Super Sonic Racing)

Running to the point of no return

Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

Come on, let the fires burn

Let's go

Don't you know

We really have to go

To a place

Where you can feel my heart just race

Lyrics[edit]

Thunder, rain and lightnin'

Danger, water risin'

Clamor, sirens wailing

It's such a bad sign

Shadows of dark creatures

Steel clouds floatin' in the air

People run for shelter

What's gonna happen to us?

All the steps we take, all the moves we make

All the pain at stake

I see the chaos for everyone

Who are we? What can we do?

You and I are the same in the way that

We have our own styles that we won't change

Your's is filled with evil and mine is not

There is no way I can lose

Can't hold on much longer

But I will never let go

I know it's a one-way track

Tell me now how long this'll last

I'm not gonna think this way

Nor will I count on others

Close my eyes and feel it burn

Now I see what I've gotta do

Open your heart, and you will see

Lyrics[edit]

Can you feel life movin' through your mind?

Oh, looks like it came back for more, yeah, yeah, yeah

Can you feel time slippin' down your spine?

Oh, you try and try to ignore, yeah

But you can hardly swallow

Your fears and pain

When you can't help but follow

It puts you right back where you came

Live and learn

Hanging on the edge of tomorrow

Live and learn

From the words of yesterday

Live and learn

If you beg or if you borrow

Live and learn

You may never find your way

Hey, whoa, whoa

Oh yeah

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Japanese title: Escape From The City

Lyrics[edit]

Rollin' around at the speed of sound

Got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow

Can't stick around, have to keep movin' on

Guess what lies ahead, only one way to find out

Must keep on movin' ahead

No time for guessin', follow my plan instead

Trustin' in what you can't see

Take my lead, I'll set you free

Follow me, set me free

Trust me and we will escape from the city

I'll make it through, follow me

Follow me, set me free

Trust me and we will escape from the city

I'll make it through; prove it to you

Follow me

Oh yeah

Danger is lurking around every turn

Trust your feelings, got to live and learn

I know with some luck that I'll make it through

Got no more other options, only one thing to do

I don't care what lies ahead

No time for guessin', follow my plan instead

Find that next stage, no matter what that may be

Take my lead, I'll set you free

Follow me, set me free

Trust me and we will escape from the city

I'll make it through, follow me

Follow me, set me free

Trust me and we will escape from the city

I'll make it through; prove it to you

Lyrics[edit]

What goes up must come down

Yet my feet don't touch the ground

Seein' the world spinnin' upside down

A mighty crash without a sound

I can feel your every rage

Step aside, I'll turn the page

Breaking through your crazy maze

Like a laser beam my eyes on you

Watch me rule the night away

Watch me save the day

Feel my storm is getting close

Headin' your way

Sonic Heroes, Sonic Heroes

Bind you, confine you, defying your reign

Sonic Heroes, Sonic Heroes

Setting the stage for a hero's parade

You can bet there ain't no doubt

As the words spill from the mouth of a hero

I can chase another day, fight you all the way

Like a hero

And together we stand strong no matter how

No one can bring us down

Hey

Sonic Heroes, Sonic Heroes

Bind you, confine you, defying your reign

Sonic Heroes, Sonic Heroes

Setting the stage for a hero's parade

Lyrics[edit]

Make-believes reborn

Myths in mind rethought

Question all that's known

Legends blurred and torn

Make-believes reborn (make-believes reborn)

Myths in mind rethought (myths in mind rethought)

Question all that's known (question all that's known)

Legends blurred and torn (legends blurred and torn)

(Legends blurred and torn)

Yeah

No such thing as fate for those who speed

A path out of time instead of just livin' it

So many things need a push or a pull to begin

Un-free to move unless another hand gets in

Be it all the same, it's never the same

Just like that, it's nothin' it all just means

Nothin' it all just means

If all as is, then it's never as is

Back to fact, make real of all that seems

Make real of all that seems

Seven rings in hand

Speed through nights with feet in sand

Seven rings in hand

Wonders all under command

Seven rings in hand

Wild with just one single hand

Seven rings in hand

Arrowed hearts catch fire now

Seven rings in hand

Nights with feet in sand

Seven rings in hand

Seven rings in hand

Make-believes reborn (make-believes reborn)

Myths in mind rethought (myths in mind rethought)

Question all that's known (question all that's known)

Legends blurred and torn (legends blurred and torn)

Lyrics[edit]

Whoa, whoa

Whoa, whoa, whoa

Hey, all (hey, all)

Welcome to the greatest storm

I know (I know)

You have waited much too long

And I (and I)

I will be your shining star

I'm here (I'm here)

Here to conquer near and far

Like the sun (the sun), I run (I run)

Into the heat of day

Like a knight (like a knight), I'll fight (I'll fight)

Until the fight is won

In a rage (a rage), I'll save (I'll save)

Each and every, each and every, each and every one

Until this war is won

And I live to rule by the sword

Slashing through the every inch of the power

The power in you

As I sit, as I stand by the table I command

My kingdom

I'm the knight of the wind

The knight of the wind

I'm the knight of the wind

Our castle is a massive force

A stronghold of power

My armour stays unbreakable

In battle every hour

Whoa, whoa

Whoa, whoa, whoa

Take off at the speed of sound

Bright lights, colors all around

I'm running wild, livin' fast and free

Got no regrets inside of me

Not lookin' back

Not givin' up

Not letting go

I'll keep on running

I'm gonna reach for the stars

Although they look pretty far

I'm gonna find my own way

And take a chance on today

The sky with stars so bright

The colors feel so right

I've never felt like this, I'll keep on runnin'

The sky with stars so bright

The colors feel so right

Just take my hand, we're gonna reach for the stars

Tonight

Tonight

Wake up, livin' day by day

Do what I want, and I'll do it my way

The world's flying right below my feet

Got no regrets inside of me

Not lookin' back (Not lookin' back)

Not givin' up (Not givin' up)

Not letting go

I'll keep on running

I'm gonna reach for the stars

Although they look pretty far

I'm gonna find my own way

And take a chance on today

The sky with stars so bright

The colors feel so right

I've never felt like this, I'll keep on runnin'

The sky with stars so bright

The colors feel so right

Just take my hand, we're gonna reach for the stars

Tonight

Tonight

Lyrics[edit]

I can't do this alone

Even though I am strong

Need something more than me

Someone to push me to victory

Let's see what we can do

Together, me and you

Can't be afraid to try

Kiss your fears goodbye

No looking back

You and I, we're on the attack

Full speed ahead

Running to the sunset

Such a different feeling

Both of us believing

We can make it better

Together, we can show the world what we can do

You are next to me and I'm next to you

Push me on through until the battle's won

No one's gonna give a thing to us

Into each other we put our trust

Standing united, after the fight

All alone we will never be

The two of us are holding the key

We see today, a world we couldn't see

Before I say goodbye to you, one more last fist bump

I know you have been afraid before

But you don't have to be any more

No more emptiness to feel inside

When we run together, no one can break up our stride

No looking back

You and I, we're on the attack

Full speed ahead

Running to the sunset

Such a different feeling

Both of us believing

We can make it better

Trivia[edit]

  • "Right There, Ride On" is the only previous Sonic the Hedgehog song not to be included in Ultimate.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog has the largest number of vocal songs, with 10.
  • This is the only game where the vocal to non-vocal ratio of Sonic the Hedgehog music is even.
  • If one counts both versions of SSB4 as being the same game, Ultimate is the only game with third-party characters where the Sonic the Hedgehog universe does not have the most music for any third-party universe, as Mega Man, Street Fighter, Castlevania, Fatal Fury and Tekken exceed it.
  • Excluding Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts, which have no remixes aside from the latter's victory fanfare, Sonic the Hedgehog has the fewest Smash remixes out of any third-party series, with only one.
    • However, it's the most recurring third-party remix in the Smash series, having appeared in all the games since Brawl and also in various other titles related to the Sonic series outside of Smash.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog is the third-party universe with the largest number of games represented by music, having 20 music tracks originated from 16 games of its own franchise.
  • Songs from the first two Sonic games are owned by the composers of the tracks, rather than the owner of the IP. This trait is shared with the music from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Dragon Quest series, the Culdcept series, Soma Bringer, and Style Savvy: Styling Star.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog is one of four universes in Ultimate to feature songs from pre-release material, with the other three being Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Kingdom Hearts.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog and Final Fantasy VII are the only series represented by playable characters in Ultimate, in which all their remixes are not owned by Nintendo but by their owners, respectively Sega and Square Enix. Metal Gear and Street Fighter also have certain remixes owned by their owners, Konami and Capcom U.S.A. respectively, however the others are owned by Nintendo.
    • Counting the Other music category, Undertale also shares this distinction, as the remix of MEGALOVANIA is owned by Toby Fox.
