This track is a rock-based remix and arrangement of the two music tracks that played during the two Acts of Angel Island Zone of Sonic The Hedgehog 3. This track was first heard on the Smash Bros. DOJO!!, but prior to the release of Brawl, the track was included in the Japanese CD True Blue: The Best of Sonic The Hedgehog

Origin[edit]

Sonic CD for the Sega CD had different soundtracks in the US, Japanese, and PAL versions (note that the Japanese and PAL versions contain the same soundtrack). In the US, this track was used as the main theme. The version of the track is a direct port of said track performed by Pastiche.

This track was the main theme of Sonic Adventure, and its remake, Sonic Adventure DX: Director’s Cut, and plays while controlling Super Sonic within those games. Specifically, the track in Brawl is the shortened version that played during the battle against Perfect Chaos in Sonic Adventure, rather than the full version. This track is composed and performed by rock band Crush 40.

This track first served as the main theme of Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and plays while controlling Super Sonic or Super Shadow. The track has become somewhat of a recurring theme in the Sonic series, appearing in other games such as SEGA Superstars Tennis. This version of the track, however, despite otherwise being a direct port, only features the first verse, chorus, and part of the bridge. The vocals are sung by rock band Crush 40.

This track served as both the main theme and Sonic's own theme in Sonic The Hedgehog, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 exclusive Sonic game released in 2006. In said game, this track featured lyrics, but these were not included within Brawl's version of the track due to copyright issues. In other words, it's the instrumental version of "His World".

This track is often considered the main theme of the Wii game Sonic and the Secret Rings, wherein the music piece played in the level select screen , and when Sonic fought the boss Alf Layla Wa-Layla. The version of this track in Sonic and the Secret Rings featured multiple verses, but the version in Brawl only features the first verse and chorus, sung by Steve Conte.
