Trivia[edit]
- While on stream, BassMage performed a JV4 in the first game against his Winner's Round 2 opponent (Zaph), marking the first known tournament JV4 to be officially broadcast live at an Ultimate major.[1]
- BassMage also became the first Jigglypuff player to make Top 8 at an open bracket Ultimate major.
- Instead of playing their respective mains Terry and Pac-Man, Riddles and Tea opted to please the crowd by playing Kazuya dittos in Loser's Semis. Tea emerged victorious, winning the set 3-1.
- Glutonny felt ill before the final day and DQ'd from winner's side before the start of Top 64, ending his anticipated run early at 65th.[2]
- This tournament marks Zackray's return to competition in competitive Smash after an 8-month hiatus. Despite the time that passed, his 1st place finish marks his third major win in a row, as the last two major tournaments he had attended (and won) were Kagaribi 6 and Kagaribi 5.
- With his win, he also became the second person to win at least one major in Europe, North America, and Japan, following Tea.
