In Brawl, Mr.R mained Marth and also played Snake, Zero Suit Samus, Link, and Meta Knight. His flashy playstyle was often compared to that of French Marth player Leon. He was considered to be the best European player, as he placed high at several major tournaments (notably 7th at Apex 2013 and 9th at Apex 2014) and has taken sets off of top players such as Salem, Dabuz, ANTi, Vinnie, ADHD, ESAM, mikeHAZE, and Bloodcross. His montages Messiah and Force Majeure are some of the most famous Brawl combo videos.
In Smash 4, because of his consistent high placings at national tournaments such as 2nd at EVO 2015, 3rd at Apex 2015 and Super Smash Con 2016, 4th at The Big House 6, and 5th at CEO 2016, Mr.R is widely considered to be one of the best Sheik players (along with VoiD) and one of the best players in the world.
Mr.R has mained Sheik since Smash 4's release, even when Diddy Kong was widely believed to be the best character in the game, and as such is a pioneer of the Sheik metagame, having developed many kill setups and low percent combos that he employed with success at Apex 2015. He sometimes counterpicks other characters when faced with difficult matchups, most notably Cloud, Bayonetta, and Ryu.
He is the dominant force of the European Smash 4 scene, winning most of the national tournaments there without dropping a set such as B.E.A.S.T 6, Syndicate 2016, and Eclipse 2. Smashdown World was notably the first European tournament that he failed to win, placing 5th after losing to Japanese players Komorikiri and Kameme.
He is the 11th player to take a set off of ZeRo in Smash 4, achieving this in losers finals of WTFox 2.
On January 27th, 2017, United States president Donald Trump signed an executive order altering America's immigration policy. This order would prohibit Mr. R from competing in the States for 90 days as he is a person holding dual nationality with Iran, one of the seven countries affected by this restriction.
