OrionRank 2017

The OrionRank Top 100 2017 lists the world's top 100 Super Smash Bros. 4 smashers, as compiled by Smashboards user Das Koopa and Reddit user FreezieBeatz. The rankings were first announced to be coming on January 1st, 2018.

Methodology

Over 350 players were nominated based on their placement in high-profile tournaments. These tournaments included:

• Top 96 at GENESIS 4, 2GGC: Civil War, or EVO 2017
• Top 64 at 2GGC: Nairo Saga, CEO 2017, Super Smash Con 2017, or 2GGC: MkLeo Saga
• Top 48 at Shine 2017, GameTyrant Expo 2017, 2GGC: Fire Emblem Saga, or 2GG Championship
• Top 32 at 2GGC: GENESIS Saga, 2GGC: Midwest Mayhem Saga, Frostbite 2017, Frame Perfect Series 2, CEO Dreamland, Umebura Japan Major 2017, 2GGC: Greninja Saga, MomoCon 2017, 2GGC: ARMS Saga, DreamHack Atlanta 2017, 2GGC: SCR Saga, or 2GGC: West Side Saga
• Top 16 at Niconico Tokaigi 2017, B.E.A.S.T 7, Syndicate 2017, or Umebura T.A.T.

Each player was given a score based on their performance in these events. They earned earned points based on set wins with adjustments made based on the skill pool of the tournament. Certain bonuses were awarded for specific things, such as winning an event.
