Regen 2023 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate superregional held in Birmingham, England on August 18th-20th, 2023.
Tournament summary[edit]
MVD was registered for Regen 2023, but was unable to attend due to last minute issues relating to his passport.[1]
This tournament saw #1 seed Bloom4Eva's worst performance at a British tournament since before the pandemic, as he was upset by #8 seed Ikan 3-2 (upset factor 5) and #16 seed Lancelot 3-0 (upset factor 7) to place 9th. In addition, #4 seed Tarik was upset in top 64 by #29 seed elitetweet 3-2 (upset factor 6), however he made a strong Losers run defeating Oryon 3-1, Flow 3-1, Lancelot 3-1, Space 3-2, and Peli 3-1 to place 3rd. Likewise, #11 seed Peli also saw a strong Losers run, defeating Raflow 3-2, OwlBBs 3-2, SOLO 3-0 in the runback, Mr.R 3-2, and MoDzai 3-1 to place 4th.
In top 8, #2 seed Luugi defeated Ikan 3-2 in Winner's Finals to make Grand Finals. Ikan then defeated Tarik to fight Luugi in the runback, where he won the first set 3-1. However, Luugi defeated Ikan in the second set 3-0, including a 3-stock in the final game, winning his second Regen title.
