UGC Smash Open was a Super Smash Bros. Melee major and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U supermajor tournament held at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville, Illinois, during December 2nd-4th, 2016. It featured a pot bonus of $40,000 between both games, one of the largest in the history of Smash tournaments.

- In a tweet, ZeRo stated that he injured his knee after jumping off the stage in celebration after winning UGC Smash Open, and wouldn't get surgery for it until 4 years later.[1]
