Top 16 Bracket
- This is the first North American major in Smash history with no players from the United States in Top 8, which happened in Ultimate.
- This is the first major Melee tournament won by Leffen using a combination of Fox and Sheik.
- With his win, Leffen also became the first person to win multiple iterations of BOBC, as he had originally won the first Battle of BC.
- Leffen went primarily blue Fox in homage of Chillindude, as opposed to default Fox.
- Within Melee pools, Zain (Naghmi) fought against another Zain (Jelani) in bracket, which was humorously brought to attention on social media afterwards.
- Also coincidentally, Jelani's sponsor was abbreviated to ZG. This has been also noticed on social media and people made jokes about the sponsor being the "Zolden Guardians".[1][2]Although Naghmi expectedly cut Jelani's Melee run short, Jelani ended up making Top 64 in the Ultimate bracket.
- Jmook and Aura, who won Melee doubles, made the spontaneous decision to team together for the first time ten minutes after the doubles bracket had already started.[3]
- Ouch!? was both the highest placing Canadian and hometown British Columbia resident in the Ultimate bracket, finishing 3rd.
- This tournament marks KEN's first Ultimate major win, as well as the first Ultimate major win for Sephiroth.
- KEN's win being accompanied by his prominent usage of Sephiroth in Top 8 spawned jokes that he was the second coming of SephirothKen, Ken's original tag.
