Trivia
- Several characters that have fire-based attacks are not playable in this tournament, including Falco (Fire Bird), Olimar (Red Pikmin via Pikmin Throw), Mr. Game & Watch (Judge 6), Mega Man (Flame Sword and Flame Blast), and Steve (Flint & Steel).
- In Mega Man and Steve's cases, this is due to their moves being standard attacks rather than special attacks (Flame Sword is Mega Man's forward aerial, Flame Blast is Mega Man's down smash, and Flint & Steel is Steve's down tilt).
- Oddly, Falco is not playable in this tournament even though Fire Bird is functionally identical to Fox's Fire Fox.
- Squirtle, Ivysaur and Mythra do not use fire attacks (being associated with water, grass, and light respectively), but are playable in the tournament by virtue of being tied to fire users Charizard and Pyra.
- Ganondorf and Richter are also playable, despite not possessing any special move with the flame effect (being associated with darkness and aura respectively). However, both of them are clones of characters that use flame effects.
