Tournament summary[edit]
Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]
This was Mew2King's first offline Melee tournament since DreamHack Atlanta 2022, and he played under the tag "The Ancient Dragon". He ultimately placed 7th after losing to Trif 1-3 and Foxy Grandpa 0-3.
The tournament mostly ran like normal with no notable upsets on the foreign invaders. As such, the first seed, Cody Schwab, took the entire tournament, winning three game 5s in a row against Medz, Aklo, and Trif along the way.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
At 1,051 entrants, this is the largest singles event in Mexico and the first North American event outside of the United States to surpass 1,000 entrants. In addition to the high entrants count and featuring most of Mexico's best players at that time, the event also featured many notable players from around the world, on par with past S Factor events; this included Onin, Hurt, Miya, and Raru, all of whom made their Mexican tournament debut at S Factor 12. Due to the high entrants count and top level talent, the event became the first supermajor of the second half of the LumiRank 2025 season, as well as Mexico's first major since the previous S Factor.
Despite the event's size, there were very little upsets that took place at the event. The largest upset took place on the #1 seed Hurt, who lost to #16 seed Sisqui in a last-stock, last-hit game 5 scenario (upset factor 7), before being swiftly eliminated by #8 seed MkLeo (upset factor 5) for 13th. Only three other top 8 seeds failed to make top 8: #4 seed Sonix, who did not attend the event in the first place; #6 seed Onin, who lost to MkLeo 1-3 in the Losers bracket for 9th, the first time they had lost to MkLeo; and #7 seed and defending champion ShinyMark, who lost a game 5 timeout set against Miya before being eliminated 0-3 by Glutonny. In addition, #5 seed Raru lost the Luigi ditto against #20 seed WaKa 2-3 but was still able to enter top 8 on the Losers side after eliminating Light. On the other hand, this event was notably Chilean player and #21 seed Toon's first major event, and he ultimately placed 9th after defeating players such as MKBigBoss, Guilheww, and LittN!, becoming the first Chilean player to place single-digits at an Ultimate major. In addition, Guilheww himself claimed yet another top level win at an S Factor event, this time defeating Glutonny 3-2.
In top 8, Miya lost to Sparg0 1-3, setting up an anticipated match between him and MkLeo. However, both players fell to their respective region's Luigi the set before they were seeded to fight, with both players losing in a 3-2 fashion. This was the first time WaKa had defeated MkLeo, as well as the first time MkLeo had lost to a Luigi player, and the second time Raru had defeated Miya. Both Luigi players met each other yet again in Losers Semi-Finals, and in a repeat of their previous match, WaKa defeated Raru 3-2. WaKa's run then concluded at 3rd after losing to Syrup, marking WaKa's greatest major performance yet. In Grand Finals, Syrup became the first Steve player since acola at Ludwig Smash Invitational in 2022 to defeat Sparg0, winning the first set of Grand Finals 3-1 and ending Sparg0's 1,003-day streak of not losing to Steve. However, Sparg0 then swiftly defeated Syrup 3-0 to win the entire event, becoming the first player to win more than one Ultimate S Factor event.
