Zingers (ジンガー, Zinger) are enemies from the Donkey Kong series.
Origin[edit]
Zingers made their debut in Donkey Kong Country as a common enemy, and has become a recurring enemy in later Donkey Kong games. They are wasp-like insects with spines sticking out from their back, which prevents them from being defeated by getting jumped on. Zingers can be defeated by other means, such as throwing a barrel, or with projectiles like the Peanut Popgun.

In the intro cutscene of Adventure Mode: World of Light, the Zinger is one of the countless spirits captured by Galeem during his takeover of the universe. After Galeem's defeat, Dharkon takes control of Galeem's spirits, including Zinger. Zinger's spirit is located in the DK Island sub-dungeon of The Light Realm.
