The Polygon Team in Super Smash Bros. was a team of purple polyhedrons modeled after every character in the game (even ones that haven't yet been unlocked). They battle the player in several battles before Master Hand's stage. They aren't aggressive, mainly walking around the platforms without actively seeking to defeat the player. They are also fairly weak, have no B-button attacks, and cannot grab. They can usually be defeated in a single blow - however, at higher difficulty levels, Polygons approach the weight and strength of normal opponents.
The Polygon Team is considered the predecessor of the Fighting Wire Frames and the Fighting Alloy Team.
