Deoxys

Revision as of 11:25, October 23, 2021 by CanvasK (talk | contribs) (More detailed and accurate information. I think Deoxys needs the freshness bonus to KO at 0%, because I couldn't get it consistently in training but got it a lot in a match)

After ascending, it fires the beam straight down. The attack continues for a short while, so use a throw or other attack to knock the enemy into the beam while you can.
Pokémon Encyclopedia, Smash Bros. DOJO!!

Deoxys (デオキシス, Deoxys) is a creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Origin

Deoxys is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation III, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #386 as the "DNA Pokémon". Originally an event-exclusive Pokémon, it became regularly available in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the first Pokémon to do so. It possesses four different Formes: the Normal Forme, with high attack stats and low defense stats, the Attack Forme, which sharpens even further its disparity between attacking and defensive stats, the Defense Forme, which is much slower and less powerful but severely increases its defensive capabilities, and the Speed Forme, which has balanced offensive and defensive stats and used to have the highest base speed of any Pokémon, before being succeeded by Regieleki. The Attack Forme, originally exclusive to Pokémon FireRed, is the one that appears in the Smash series.

Hyper Beam is a Normal-type special move with 150 base power and 90% accuracy. While very powerful, if successful it forces the user to waste one turn to recharge. It is available to most fully evolved Pokémon with TM15, but Deoxys can also learn it by level-up in its Normal and Attack Formes.

The Attack Form of Deoxys appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When it comes out of its Poké Ball, it will fly upward, lightly dealing 7% damage and meteor smashing anyone who touches it. Once at the top of the screen it will shoot a powerful Hyper Beam downwards. The Hyper Beam will pull in fighters and deal 1% at the edge (indicated by a faint, blue aura) and 30% at the beam, with the beam having high knockback and being able to one-hit KO Mario. While difficult, it is possible to SDI the edge hits and avoid being hit by the beam. This attack does not harm the summoner.

Deoxys was formed from a mutated virus that came to Earth on a meteorite. It comes in four different Formes, but in this game, it appears in Attack Forme. When summoned, it heads skywards before firing its Hyper Beam attack straight downwards from the crystal in its chest.
