A Borboras (ブーバス, Boobas) is a moderately common enemy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, which first appears at The Plain.

Enemy description[edit]

It has a thin body and its head resembles a trumpet that produces blasts of wind. On their own, Borboras either skip around or stand idle. The creature is not particularly dangerous, but it can disrupt players by generating wind from its mouth that can push them into other enemies and traps. The strength of the enemy's wind and its attack rate increases at higher difficulties, making it harder to get past them or defeat them. Players will take damage from if they touch its head when it starts blowing wind. It will start blowing if the player is in range of its wind (about 3 times the width of Donkey Kong).

Moveset[edit]

Notes: The "d" below is a multiplier based on the difficulty value. Final damage is rounded down to the nearest whole number. The move names are fan-made in the absence of an official source.
Name Damage Description
Headbutt 8 + 2.0d As a Borboras gets ready to blow, it pulls its body and front foot back then swings forward. Once it gets in position, after planting its foot, its head will do moderate damage and knockback. This attack is a shield breaker, dealing 100% additional shield damage.
Wind 0.38 + 0.018d units/frame (edges)
0.55 + 0.025d u/f (main)
Borboras' windbox. Some of the windboxes overlap and compound, resulting in some areas having a force of 0.93 + 0.043d u/f. On Intense the combined wind force can be as strong as 1.3815 u/f, strong enough to overpower or significantly hinder the vast majority of the cast's modified SSE run speed.
Careening 12 - 1.0d

Trophy[edit]

Borboras's trophy in Brawl
Borboras
A Subspace foe. Although humanoid in form, it's characterized by a head that resembles a wind instrument decorated on top with trumpet valves. It can be quite annoying--when it spots you, it'll blow you off balance with some serious wind from its mouth. And where does it get off, skipping around so cheerfully? I mean, who skips these days? Seriously.
