A Roader (ローダ, Roader) is an enemy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode that first appears in The Battlefield Fortress.

Enemy description[edit]

Roaders are one-wheeled red motorcycles with a spiked motocross helmet. They are fast, easily outrunning Sonic on most difficulties. Upon spotting the player's character, Roaders charge at top speed attempting to ram them. When near a gap, they can try to jump to the other side. Roaders cannot suffer careening as, upon defeat, their head explodes, but their wheel starts flying away for a similar effect. Its attack deals very high knockback, but has very poor traction, which causes it to slide over. It may also attempt to attack by jumping backwards.

The concept and design of the Roader might be based on the Helper form of Wheelie from the Kirby series.

Moveset[edit]

For brevity, all spike hitboxes listed below deal slash damage and only affect airborne players.

Notes: The "d" below is a multiplier based on the difficulty value. Final damage is rounded down to the nearest whole number. The move names are fan-made in the absence of an official source.

Trophy[edit]

Roader's trophy in Brawl
Roader
A Subspace Army enemy that looks like a motorized unicycle. It features an off-road motorbike helmet as a head, revealing creepy eyes that peek from under its visor. It attacks using three head spikes and its wheel and is clearly unconcerned with environmental conservation, since it wheels around freely spouting exhaust from its muffler.
