Chile
Chile is a country located in the west coast of South America, bordering Peru and Bolivia to the north and Argentina to the east. Tournament activity in the region primarily takes place in Chile's capital city Santiago and its surrounding metropolitan area, although scenes exist all throughout the country, including in the Valparaíso and Biobío regions.
Chile is widely considered the strongest South American region in competitive Super Smash Bros., owing to a history of players who had found success at international events. One of the earliest Chilean players to make their mark on the international competitive scene was ZeRo, who traveled to the United States for Brawl events before staying in the country for Smash 4, becoming one of the greatest Brawl players in the game's later years as well as the greatest Smash 4 player of all time. Alongside ZeRo, both Chape and Rocket also found great success in Melee, with both ranking in the top 100 globally and Rocket even ranking in the top 50 on the SSBMRank Summer 2025, while Nax has become one of the greatest Smash 64 players in the post-pandemic metagame. In Ultimate, Frido was considered the best player in South America in the early metagame and one of the earliest successful Mr. Game & Watch players, while Peppa and Toon are considered among South America's best players in the post-pandemic metagame. Alongside a thriving playerbase, Chile has held many of the largest Smash events in South America. This includes Zenkoku Taikai 2, the first South American event to surpass 200 entrants, and Smash Chile - Civil War, which held the record for largest South American Smash event for several years.
