Qatar is a Middle Eastern Smash region that encompasses the country of the same name. The country shares a border with Saudi Arabia and is also close to Bahrain. As such, the Qatari Smash scene frequently crosses over with the other two scenes. Tournament activity takes place in the capital city, Doha, and its surrounding metropolitan area. With the city featuring most of Qatar's population, nearly every notable Qatari Smash player resides in the metropolitan area as well.

The region's Smash scene began sometime in the early 2010s, though similar to most Middle Eastern scenes at the time, the tournament scene was incredibly small and niche. However, the scene received a notable boost around the time of Super Smash Bros. 4's release as several conventions, most notably IGN Convention Qatar, held Smash 4 events and attracted sizable attendance. The scene steadily grew throughout the Smash 4 era, thanks to events held by local organizations, including weekly/biweekly events at 1-Up Gaming Center and annual events held by Geekdom Tournaments, and the rise of several Qatari smashers in the Middle East's Smash scene, including Nagnoog, Qatar's best Smash 4 player, who also placed highly at several events outside of Qatar, as well as TheFinalHeart, a player who dominated 1-Up Gaming Center events for some time. Ultimate further highlighted the size and strength of Qatar's scene: Second Wind! became one of the largest Ultimate events in the early metagame, and several Qatari Smashers, such as Crono, $BK, and Xaiop, found decent results at other large Middle Eastern events. The growth culminated in the post-pandemic metagame thanks to the gaming center Virtuocity, which held several of the region's best-known events, including the Smash World Tour 2022 Gold-tier Virtuocity Smash Open 2022, which featured many of the Middle East's best players, and Virtuocity Battleground, where several international players were also invited.
