Northwest Mexico is a Smash region that consists of the Mexican states Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa and Durango. The region borders Southwest and Texas to the North; Baja California to the west, the Northeast Mexico state Coahuila and North Central Mexico states Zacatecas and Aguascalientes to the east, and the West Mexico states Nayarit and Jalisco to the south.
Northwest Mexico is the home of the Delfino Maza series held in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, the second largest tournament series in Mexico, alongside S Factor. Delfino Maza 2023 is currently the largest tournament in the region, at 357 entrants. Also, the region is the home of the Best of the West series held in Nogales, Sonora, the second largest tournament series in the region. Best of the West III: Climhazzard is the second largest tournament in the region, at 218 entrants. In addition, although not very represented, many players in the region have been succeed at large Mexican tournaments, like Far! in Melee, Kub4444 in Smash 4, Blues, MC, Pain, Stronghold and CK in Ultimate.
