Polynesia
Polynesia generally refers to the many island nations of the Oceania region outside the jurisdiction of Australia. Portions of neighboring oceanic regions Micronesia and Melanesia are also considered part of this region for competitive Smash purposes, while others are considered part of other regions like Southeast Asia. For competitive Smash purposes, it is further split into 3 regions:
While many other nations and territories exist in the region, their competitive scenes are considered too small to be notable and are instead considered part of one of the above regions depending on proximity. Hawaii is often considered a part of Polynesia, but it being part of the United States causes it to be grouped with that region in competitive Smash. Guam can also be considered a part of Polynesia, but is competitively considered a part of Southeast Asia.
