Introduction tagline

Goemon is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. He was added to the mod in its 1.4.0 release on June 30, 2023. Goemon is the fourth playable character added to the mod to not be playable in an official Smash game, and the third after Conker and Marina to have his own slot on the character select screen. Unlike Conker and Marina, Goemon and his universe had previously been represented in the official Smash games in the form of Goemon himself appearing as a downloadable Mii Costume for Mii Swordfighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In addition to becoming a playable character in his own right, he would later be joined by Ebisumaru in v1.5.0.

Shinichiro Ohta and Yasunori Matsumoto reprise their role as Goemon using archived audio from both Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Goemon's Great Adventure.

Trivia[edit]

  • Goemon's character select screen portrait resembles artwork made for Goemon's Great Adventure.
  • When carrying an item like Crates or Barrels, he activates his Sudden Impact form.
  • Goemon's intro tagline "Goemon Makes An Impact!!!" is a reference to Goemon Impact, a giant robot that Goemon pilots to defeat gigantic enemies.
    • Goemon Impact is also the basis for the design of Goemon's polygon variant.
  • Before v1.5.0, Goemon's biography states "A certain plumber has even been called the Goemon of the Mushroom Kingdom by some - what an honor!". This has since been removed.
