Peppy is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. He was added to the mod in its 1.4.0 release on June 30, 2023. Peppy was originally selected as a boss variant of Fox before being moved to the bonus character slot in v2.0.0.

The late Rick May reprises his role through archived audio from Star Fox 64.

Neutral special		Revolver	6%	A blaster attack that functions similarly to Needle Storm, with Peppy starting to charge up when B is pressed, then firing up to five shots in quick succession on the second press.
Up special		Fire Hare	16%	Peppy performs an upward boost that functions identically to Fire Fox.
Down special		Flash Bomb	1% (hit), 7% (burst)	Peppy throws a flash bomb that will detonate after roughly four seconds, stunning anyone in range. The bomb cannot be picked up, but it can be attacked, causing it to detonate. Peppy can trigger the detonation early by pressing the button again.

On-screen appearance

• Jumps out of his Arwing, akin to his fellow Star Fox teammates.

Taunt

• Holds his hand up while saying "Take it easy!"

• Borrows Fox's idle stance.

Victory poses

• Carefully looks around, as if hesitating, then puts his hand on his chin and says, "Okay." (Also his CSS animation.)
• Borrows Fox's Blaster-twirling victory pose (with his Revolver) while saying "Never give up, trust your instincts!", the same quote by Fox's father, James McCloud.
• With his back towards the camera, he slowly looks back, then dramatically turns around, brandishing his Revolver while saying "You're mine!".

In Remix Modes

Remix 1P Mode

Peppy can appear in Stage 4 as a team with Slippy called "Star Fox", where they are fought on Sector Z DL, Corneria, Venom, or Discovery Falls.

All-Star Mode

As a bonus character, Peppy cannot appear as an opponent in All-Star Mode.

• Peppy's character select screen portrait is based on this render of him sitting down from Star Fox 64.
• Peppy was originally selected as a D-Pad variant of Fox before being moved to the bonus character slot in v2.0.0.
• Holding the taunt button while performing Peppy's up special will cause him to shout "Barrel roll!", referencing an early internet meme based on his voice lines from Star Fox 64.
• Peppy's congratulations screen pose is based on that of Grippy Toad on the box art of Star Fox Guard.
• Peppy and Slippy's combined intro tagline "Peppy & Slippy Hop Aboard!!!" refers to the type of animals they are, hares and toads, both notoriously known for hopping.
• Peppy is a semi-clone, mostly of Fox.
  • His jab, neutral aerial, forward tilt, down tilt, up smash, down smash, and throws are from Fox.
  • His down aerial and forward smash are from Falco.
  • His up tilt is from Mario.
  • His dash attack is from Wario.
  • His three original non-special moves are up aerial (modeled after Fox's up smash), forward aerial (modeled after Melee Fox's forward aerial), and back aerial (modeled after Melee Fox's back aerial).
