Giga Bowser is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. He was added into the mod in its v0.9.4 release on September 6, 2020, as the boss variant of Bowser.

Attributes[edit]

Giga Bowser uses the same sounds as Bowser, which are repurposed computer-generated roars from games such as Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. His moveset is the exact same as regular Bowser, but also combines elements from his boss fights and playable appearances in later games, such as explosions on his forward smash and electric sparks on his up smash. Due to beiing intentionally overpowered, Giga Bowser understandably tends to be banned from competitive use.

On screen appearance[edit]

  • Giga Bowser falls from the sky and lands onto the stage, then looks up and gets into his idle animation.

Taunt[edit]

  • Giga Bowser takes a stance and looks at the camera, then roars at it.

Idle poses[edit]

  • Giga Bowser stands while breathing and clenching his fists.

Victory poses[edit]

  • Giga Bowser laughs just as how Bowser does in Super Mario 64 with both his arms out before stomping forwards.
  • Spins in his shell and then stops to pop out of his shell, turns back, and roars at the camera. (Also, his CSS animation).
  • Jumps up and down to the left and right before falling on his side and striking a pose. In reference to Bowser's "Bowser Space" animation in Mario Party 3.

In Remix Modes[edit]

Remix 1P Mode[edit]

Giga Bowser is the final boss of Remix 1P, where he is fought on Final Destination with 300HP. If Giga Bowser falls into the bottom blast zone, he will shoot back up onto the stage, akin to how regular Bowser does in the boss battles of Super Mario 64.

All Star Mode[edit]

As a boss character, Giga Bowser cannot appear as an opponent in All-Star Mode.

Trivia[edit]

  • Giga Bowser's portrait on the character selection screen, which can only seen in 12 Character Battle mode, is based on his trophy in Melee.
  • Giga Bowser's "skeleton" model, along with regular Bowser's, is based on Dry Bowser.
  • Giga Bowser was the first Smash Remix boss character.
  • Unlike official Smash, if regular Bowser gets a Super Mushroom, he gets larger than Giga Bowser.
