Super Sonic is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. He was added into the game in its v1.1.0 update on February 10th, 2022 alongside Sonic, whom he serves as a boss variant of and shares voice clips with. He can be selected by highlighting Sonic on the character select screen and pressing up on the D-pad. Unlike Sonic, Super Sonic only has his modern design avaliable, and not his classic design.

Attributes[edit]

Super Sonic's moves are mostly identical to Sonic's, but he can jump higher, move faster, and hit harder than his depowered counterpart. While he originally shared Sonic's special moves as well, he was given original specials to further differentiate the two as of the v2.0.0 update. As a result, despite his light weight, using Super Sonic's new neutral and up specials in combination allows him to recover from almost anywhere. Combined with his high damage numbers (with most attacks hitting in one hard burst, unlike Sonic's which tend to be split into smaller rapid hits) and his ability to act out of specials, never entering helpless state, all of this makes Super Sonic an overall dominant character—an unsurprising classification, given the nature of the form. Needless to say, it's generally agreed that, as with most bosses like Giga Bowser and Mad Piano, Super Sonic should only be used when playing for fun and not in a competitive setting.

Neutral special Sonic Rush Sonic begins flying forwards at high speed for as long as the button is held, automatically homing in on the nearest enemy in front of him. He can immediately act out of the move, making it an incredibly useful tool for recovery and closing distances. However, if the button continues to be held after passing the opponent, Super Sonic will continue flying and potentially SD. Super Sonic can only fly forward and cannot turn around if there is an enemy behind him. If there is no enemy in range, Super Sonic will fly at a 30-degree downward angle.
Up special Sonic Speed Super Sonic will teleport upwards, or in whichever direction the control stick is held. Unlike other recovery moves, Super Sonic does not enter helpless state after using it, and can perform it up to twice while in the air (meaning up to three times if the first one is used on the ground).
Down special Sonic Chaos 3% The Chaos Emeralds spin around Super Sonic at close range, rapidly hitting up to 8 times on both sides of him.
