Young Link is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. He was added into the mod in its v0.7 release on June 12, 2019. Initially, Young Link completely replaced Link due to it not being possible at the time to add new characters into Smash 64 alongside the rest of the cast. With the release of v0.9 on October 28th of that year, however, it became possible for players to use both Young Link and Link in the mod.

Young Link's voice clips consist of archived audio from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time provided by Fujiko Takimoto.

Attributes[edit]

Young Link functions most similarly to his Melee self, being a faster, but weaker clone of Link. Starting in v1.3.0, however, his down special was changed to have him utilize Bombchus.

Moveset[edit]

Name Damage Description
Neutral attack A vertical slash, a horizontal slash, and a stab. If the attack is button mashed, the third hit will be replaced by a series of rapid jabs that can angle diagonally upwards, straight, and diagonally downwards.
Forward tilt A delayed downward swing.
Up tilt Quickly swings the Razor Sword in a small arc above him.
Down tilt A ground-level slash.
Dash attack Rolls in front of him. Based on the roll attack from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Forward Smash Twirls his sword twice in hand, then slashes downward in a similar fashion to his forward tilt, but with more power and lag.
Up smash Slashes directly above him once, much like Toon Link's up smash in later Smash games.
Down smash Swiftly slashes in front of himself, then behind.
Neutral aerial An aerial sex kick.
Forward aerial Does a swirling slash in a complete circle.
Back aerial Two kicks behind himself.
Up aerial Stabs upward, similarly to his Up Thrust from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
Down aerial Aims his sword directly below him for a long duration, similarly to his Down Thrust from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. When sweetspotted, it meteor smashes opponents with an added flame effect.
Grab Uses the Hookshot while standing.
Forward throw Kicks his foe forward with good power.
Back throw Takes the foe and kicks them directly behind him.
Floor attack (front) Slashes on both sides and gets up.
Floor attack (back) Slashes on both sides and gets up.
Edge attack (fast) Flips over and slashes outwards.
Edge attack (slow) Slowly picks himself up and stabs at a slight upward angle.
Neutral special Boomerang Throws a blue boomerang, which returns after a set distance.
Up special Spin Attack Performs his signature Spin Attack. It goes a noticeably higher distance compared to Link's variant and is a multi-hit instead of a powerful, single hit.
Down special Bombchu Pulls out a Bombchu, which functions as an item that explodes on contact with an opponent or after its fuse runs out. After landing on the ground, it will move forwards, traveling along any walls it comes in contact with. Prior to v1.3.0, he used bombs just like Link.

Profile[edit]

The little fairy boy from the forest was ever excited the day the Great Deku Tree summoned him. With his helpful friend Navi by his side, the young boy set out to save the land of Hyrule from the ever-encroaching darkness. Even though he is not as large as his adult form, he is adept with bows, bombchus, and boomerangs.
