Slippy is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. Originally existing as a separate character mod, he was added into Remix in its 1.4.0 release on June 30, 2023.

Attributes

Slippy was made by Fray as a self-imposed challenge to create a new character using old animations from other characters (Mario, Luigi, Fox, and Wario). This, in turn, makes Slippy the most unique Star Fox member, with his main differences being his specials.

Neutral special		Demon Sniper	12%	Slippy fires a Demon Sniper Rifle shot that is slower than similar Blaster attacks, but capable of traveling full screen.
Up special		Jet Pack	14%	Travels significantly farther than similar Fire attacks, and can be manually steered during flight.
Down special		Reflector	8%	Functions mostly identically to other characters' reflectors. The reflector does higher damage than the others, but it also slows down any reflected projectiles.

On-screen appearance

• Jumps out of his Arwing, akin to his fellow Star Fox teammates.

Taunt

• Borrows Wario's taunt animation while saying "Slippy's here!".

Idle poses

• Borrows Mario's idle stance animation.

• Borrows Mario's thrice-jumping victory pose while cheering "Yippee!!!".
• Borrows Luigi's shuffle-dance victory pose while saying "Yeah, yeah!".

In Remix Modes

Remix 1P Mode

Slippy can appear in Stage 4 as a team with Peppy called "Star Fox", where they are fought on Sector Z DL, Corneria, Venom, or Discovery Falls.

All-Star Mode

As a bonus character, Slippy cannot appear as an opponent in All-Star Mode.

Trivia

• Before being added to Remix, Slippy was originally a side project done solely by developer Fray and was released on May 16th, 2021, as its own project. This means it took him just over two years to be officially added to Remix. He was not originally added to the mod due to it being "below the scope" of something that would be released in Remix.
• Slippy was originally selected as a D-Pad variant of Falco before being moved to the bonus character slot in v2.0.0.
• Slippy's character select pose imitates one of his official rendersMedia:SF64 Slippy.jpg from Star Fox 64, which is also used for his character select screen portrait.
• Slippy's congratulations screen pose is based on his pose on the box art of Star Fox Guard.
• Similar to Jigglypuff, Slippy's shield jump is high enough to reach the blast zone and have him self-destruct.
• Peppy and Slippy's combined intro tagline "Peppy & Slippy Hop Aboard!!!" refers to the type of animals they are, hares and toads, both notoriously known for hopping.
• Slippy is a semi-clone and one of the developers has playfully stated that “a lot of Slippy's moves are just better Wario”.
  • His jab and teeter animation are from Mario.
  • His down tilt and dash attack are from Luigi, with the latter's missing hitbox added back.
    • His back aerial and up smash are from both brothers.
  • His forward tilt and up aerial are from Fox.
  • His dash animation, up tilt, forward smash, down smash, down aerial, neutral aerial, and forward aerial are from Wario.
