Ganondorf is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix. He was the first Remix Character added into the mod in its v0.5 release on May 13, 2019. Initially, Ganondorf completely replaced Captain Falcon due to it not being possible at the time to add new characters into Smash 64 alongside the rest of the cast. With the release of v0.9 on October 28th of that year, however, it became possible for players to use both Ganondorf and Captain Falcon in the mod.

Ganondorf's voice clips consist of archived audio from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time provided by Takashi Nagasako.

Attributes[edit]

Contrasting other fan-made iterations of the character that aim to make him more distinct, Ganondorf functions most similarly to his Melee self, being a heavier, slower, and more powerful clone of Captain Falcon. However, his smash attacks have him utilize Phantom Ganon's trident in a similar manner to his Ultimate self's smash attacks.

Idle poses[edit]

Victory poses[edit]

  • With his back facing the camera, Ganondorf turns to face it and holds up his fist, the back of it facing the viewer (similar to how he displays the Triforce of Power). (Also his CSS animation.)
  • While crossing his arms, he laughs in the same evil manner as the beginning of his boss fight against Link.
  • Borrows Captain Falcon's fist-pumping victory pose.

In Remix Modes[edit]

Remix 1P Mode[edit]

Ganondorf can appear as an ordinary opponent, giant opponent, or as a multi-man team, where he is fought on Ganon's Tower.

All-Star Mode[edit]

In All-Star Mode, Ganondorf and his allies can appear on Ganon's Tower.

Profile[edit]

Ganondorf, the King of Evil, strikes fear into the heart of all who cross his path. The Gerudo sorcerer aspires only to conquer the world. He would betray the King of Hyrule to dominate the land, transforming it into a world of monsters. Even without the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf borders on invincible. A dangerous foe indeed.

Trivia[edit]

  • Ganondorf's portrait on the character selection screen is based on his artwork from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
  • Ganondorf briefly had a different forward air that used his trident during development, though this was ultimately never used.
  • Ganondorf's polygon variant slightly resembles his original pig-like Ganon form. Developers have stated that mostly Ocarina of Time's Beast Ganon was used as the basis for the poly form, though some older design elements were also referenced in its creation.
