Article on Fire Emblem Wiki Lucina

Lucina (ルキナ, Rukina) is a major character from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Her father is Chrom.

Character description

Lucina is Chrom's daughter from the future. She travels back to the current timeline in Fire Emblem: Awakening due to Grima bringing her own world to ruin. Desperate to reverse this event, she and other future children of the Shepherds travel back in time to prevent the revival of Grima in Chrom's timeline and make the future a better place. She initially hides her identity by tying her hair back and wearing a mask given to her by one of the other future children. During this time, she takes on the identity of "Marth", and often runs into Chrom and the Shepherds, saving Lissa on one occasion and fighting Chrom in Arena Ferox in another. Her disguise is ruined during an assassination attempt on Emmeryn while defending Chrom, causing her to disappear, only to reappear two years later, again defending Chrom during a Risen attack. After having been asked many times by Chrom who "he" truly was previously, she tells Chrom to look closer. Her left eye carries the Naga Brand, just like his newborn daughter, revealing that they are one and the same. They, along with Chrom's wife, share a heartwarming reunion and she decides to fight onward with the Shepherds as Lucina, the "name that reminds (her) of the strength of the man and woman who chose it".

In game, she is the second playable character that starts in the Lord class by default (inheriting this class from Chrom), and is the only future child whose recruitment is required. As she is pivotal to the story, she is one of the few units that will not be permanently lost, even in classic mode. Like Chrom, she also wields the Falchion as her default weapon (which has unlimited durability, unlike the various items Robin must use in Fire Emblem: Awakening and Super Smash Bros. 4), but her version of the famed sword (named Parallel Falchion to distinguish between Chrom's) is more powerful and starts off being able to deal bonus damage to Grima, along with the ability to heal her when it is used like an item, whereas Chrom's Falchion must be upgraded before the final battle to do both.

As a playable character

Main article: Lucina (SSB4)

Lucina appears as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. 4. She is confirmed to be a clone of Marth, though she is shorter and faster than him, and the strength of her blade is balanced throughout, rather than stronger at the tip like Marth's blade.

Trivia

  • Lucina is currently the only playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series who is not the main character of his/her game (I.E Ness, Lucas, Ice Climbers) to have appeared in only one game thus far.
