The tune itself is an extended remix of the "Intermission" music from the original Pac-Man arcade game. The song starts off with the theme for Pac-Man's Park, then segues into the theme for Block Town with an original bridge. It ends with the death sound effect from Pac-Man (specifically, the Pac-Mania variant of the tune) before starting over.

Trivia
- The night before the August 8th, 2018 Nintendo Direct, the YouTube preview of Galaga Medley was mistakenly named Bloody Tears / Monster Dance, inadvertently leaking the inclusion of Castlevania content. This was quickly fixed prior to the announcement of Simon and Richter.
- In said Direct, there were 13 songs listed under the Pac-Man series, but there are only 11 in the final version of the game. Two Namco songs were cut from Ultimate (Yokai Dochuki Retro Medley and Bravoman Retro Medley), but the correlation, if any, is unclear.
