The tune itself is an extended remix of the "Intermission" music from the original Pac-Man arcade game. The song starts off with the theme for Pac-Man's Park, then segues into the theme for Block Town. It ends with the death sound effect from Pac-Man (specifically, the Pac-Mania variant of the tune) before starting over.

Trivia
- The night before the August 8th, 2018 Nintendo Direct, the YouTube preview of Galaga Medley was mistakenly named Bloody Tears / Monster Dance, inadvertently leaking the inclusion of Castlevania content. This was quickly fixed prior to the announcement of Simon and Richter.
