Online Tourney is an Online mode in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, introduced after version 4.0.0. The mode sets up a Tourney bracket of up to 64 players, who fight each other through the internet, with the player earning a number of Spirits depending on their performance. It is the successor to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U's Tourney mode.
There are three distinct types of Online Tourneys, which differ based on the rules used:
- 1-on-1 Tourneys and Smash Tourneys are based on 1-on-1 and 4-player free for all matches, respectively, with the earlier restricting the number of players to 32.
